Realignment Day

This image was taken yesterday evening at the homeless shelter where I used to live. That guy is Bob from my stories about the shelter.

Bob spent the winter living with his son. He was hoping to find work in the oil field, but that didn’t work out, so he’s back living at the Salvation Army and looking for work.
Bob is getting ready to clean the dishes after the soup kitchen dinner.
The Salvation Army feeds anyone who wants food, every night in Shawnee, Oklahoma at 6pm. The residents staying at the lodge clean up.
I used to help clean up by being on the dishes crew with Bob, every night.
It was a realignment for me to visit those guys because (a) I remember people out there need my help, and (b) I appreciate that I’m sitting in my own apartment at 3:18am doing what I want.
I feel for some of those guys who are still there (three of them who were in my stories). I’m trying to find jobs in the future for them.
You live in the future, too, right? Why not?
