Should it be?
We’re fascinated by water falls. We say something like, “You don’t see something like that everyday!” and go on with our lives.
It’s all a matter of scale and attention. If you want to pay attention, then you can find as many things to notice about that one drip that you can find to notice about Niagara Falls.
Does the drop fall in the same place every time?
If it does not, why not?
Is it the same amount of time?
How does it splash?
The number of things you can notice about anything is limited by the amount of time you pay attention, not by the quality, or splendor, or “subjective complexity quotient” you apply to it.
That is the beauty of the Universe.
The only reason to travel is to maintain our ability to observe the universe and to communicate with others and reproduce and drink beer.
The only reason to value gold over dirt is because someone else values it, I guess. I like gold… But there’s a lot more to notice about dirt.
Some people think I might not be in here (in my head), but I am all together and I have been paying attention. ๐
Have you been paying attention?
