I have been told…
…that you told your mother…
…that it would make you uncomfortable if I came to see your performance in Cats.
So, I did not.
I sent you a copy of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (et al.) and it was returned because, I was told, you said it would make you uncomfortable to accept a book from me.
I never heard whether you received the avocados.
So, anyway…
🙂
I’m not trying to push back the prevailing winds (nor will I), and it makes no difference what I believe about any of this, and I can’t fathom what you might (not) know and/or believe, but I’d like to make it quite clear that I love you, I’ve missed you, and if you call me some day (tomorrow, in two years, in forty years, whenever) then I’ll happily rejoice.
I have it on excellent authority that you and your brother have been happy and healthy and have done well in school.
Knowing me during these years could not have improved those results, but it was always possible that exposing you two to any of the chaos I was practicing would have been bad, so when your father wanted to adopt you, I agreed and did not fight to keep my rights. I did not do this lightly and I almost changed my mind dozens of times and I’ve regretted the choice hundreds of times, but, but, but…
