Every election cycle we see pleas from the involved to the undecided that they should cast their votes in such a way that their vote is not “wasted” by voting for someone who is never going to win.
That’s just screwed up, short-term thinking and short-term thinking is the reason we’re always in a mess in this country.
Your vote for the candidate of your choice makes a difference in subsequent election cycles because future candidates are smart enough to take into account what you wanted and tailor their message to get your vote in the future.
If you choose the “lesser of two evils” then you are truly wasting your vote because you are participating in the perpetuation of a two-party system that is obviously operating as a single-party problem.
