What’s Going On?

This picture was taken at your sixth birthday celebration your Grandpa and Grandma treated you to at the bowling + pizza + arcade place.

In about a week, you’re turning ten!

The last time we saw each other in person was at the same place, about eighteen months before, at the birthday thing for your sister’s ninth birthday when you were only four and a half years old.

You don’t remember much about me, I suppose — perhaps nothing — and I don’t know anything about the little-bigger-man you’ve become.

I notice you have a strawberry and celery stick on your plate along with pizza.  You’re such a good boy.  What’s your sister eating, soup?

It’s quite possible we’ll never see each other again.  My mother used to say, “If I get hit by a bus, the WHATEVER is in the WHEREVER.”  I think that was from working at a cemetery.  People die.  They die all the time.  And, much of the time, they didn’t know it was coming that particular day.

A while back, I decided I wanted to leave messages to you and your sister in this blog and disclose to you personal information and tell you stories about me that you might find interesting.  I’m still going to do that, but I’ll leave posts for you on this blog to be published on the first of the following year.  So, the remainder of the posts for your eyes that are written this year will show up on January 1st, 2012 if I don’t reset them for January 1st, 2013 by then.  I guess from time-to-time I might future date a post to the first day of a year father in the future for whatever reason.

I’ll still post public things here, too.

I don’t have any evidence of it, but I suspect one of you has already found my blog.  You remember me, don’t you?  You can at least spell my name.  I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I miss you so much it makes me cry every day.
