Flash is still amazingly underutilitized on the web. Yes, I said it.
Flash is generally not used as an interface tool because people are concerned about SEO and accessibility from mobile devices.
You’re missing the whole market of people who will pay money to make their stuff look cool who are only attracting a few dozen visitors a day ANYWAY. They’re not making money, they’re communicating with a group.
So, enter FLOGGING… Flash Blogging, whatever.
The blogger designs the user experience as a set of key frames starting at the master frame. The master frame is the beginning of the post, for instance. The reader controls the experience by going from one stop frame to another. The writer can control some of the experience by animation on a timeline.
When a reader goes from yesterday’s post to today’s post, everything tweens into the new position for today. Maybe some things dissappear, maybe some things scroll, maybe some things stay the same.
The blogger can be completely creative about the design of todays posting. Perhaps a beating heart is placed in the middle, perhaps there are sound effects, whatever.
You’re going to need to create a Flash tool for people to make these postings. Actually, Flex would be a good way to make a tool.
You could charge for the hosting or you could provide free hosting and a marketplace for widgets.
People could put content on their posting for the day, by paying a license fee, for songs, videos, whatever…
Folks, money on the internet is better made servicing the millions of wanna-be’s and not worry about the already-are’s.
