Back when I was a kid, one million dollars was a lot of money.
I saw an interview with Jim Carrey a while back where he said when he was just starting out in show business that he wrote himself a one million dollar check and pledged that one day it would be good.
When anyone asks me about an amount of money and I’m not sure what to say, I always say, “One million dollars.”
For instance, “Mr. Winett, what sort of yearly salary were you expecting?”
“One million dollars.”
I say it slowly, for maximum impact, “One million dollars.”
I think it would be hilarious to forever make it into the Price Is Right highlight reels by bidding my closest estimate of the price of the showcase, without going over: ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
Now that’s funny. Come on, that’s funny.
